Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery in the Castle Hayne area in January.

Warrants have been issued for 23-year-old Marquis Dashaun Jackson in connection with an incident on Rockhill Road at about 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 18, according to New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer. Jackson is the third suspect to be identified in the incident.

Four people were in a car on Rockhill Road, when a vehicle drove up next to them, Brewer said. A female got out of the vehicle and approached the four occupants in the other car. At that time, a male suspect also approached the victims in the car and attempted to rob them at gunpoint.

The male suspect reportedly fired a shot into the windshield as the victims attempted to back the car away, Brewer said. The shot did not cause any injuries to the driver and passengers inside.

Detectives previously charged 23-year-old Tashon Darell Hicks and 17-year-old Dontasia Monet Boney in connection with the armed robbery earlier this month, after about two months of investigation, Brewer said.

Jackson is wanted on several felony charges including attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, Brewer said.

Anyone with information about Jackson or his whereabouts is asked to contact the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 910-798-4162 or submit a tip on the sheriff’s office website.
