NEW HANOVER COUNTY — Detectives with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office have charged three people from South Carolina with trafficking heroin in Wilmington.
Sean Michael Shaughnessy, 46, Angela Jean Robinson, 22, and David Allen Black, 55, all of 504 N. Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, were arrested March 26, charged with trafficking heroin, conspiracy to traffic heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Jerry Brewer.
The suspects had a package containing narcotics shipped to a hotel in the downtown area, Brewer said. The package contained approximately 253 grams of opiates.
New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office vice and narcotics detectives assisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Postal Inspector with the interception and controlled delivery of the package to the hotel.
Shaughnessy reportedly had his 1-year-old daughter in his arms as he accepted the narcotics package, Brewer said. Shaughnessy and Robinson—the child’s mother—are also facing felony child abuse in addition to felony drug charges in connection with the package.
Shaughnessy, Robinson and Black were booked at the New Hanover County jail under $150,000 secured bonds.
