
A Brigade Boys and Girls Club board member has been honored with the new board member of the year award.
Bill Branch was honored by the Boys & Girls Clubs North Carolina Area Council with the 2014 New Board Member of the Year Award, according to Angie Hill, spokeswoman for the Brigade Boys and Girls club.
The award was given to a board member with less than three years of service to a Boys and Girls Clubs across 43 clubs in the state, Hill said.
Branch has served on the club’s board for two years, served on several committees including resource development, marketing as well as is the 2014 Chairman of the ‘It Just Takes One Campaign.’ Through his involvement and leadership, the ‘It Just Takes One Campaign’ contributions increased 80 percent in the last two years. He will serve as board president next year, Hill said.
Branch consults for corporate and private equity clients and is involved in several entrepreneurial businesses. Along with the Brigade Boys & Girls Club Board, he serves on the board of Sto Corp, a German owned construction materials business and is on the advisory board of Copeley Capital Management, a private equity firm.
Branch is also a graduate of the University of Maryland and veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
