Wilmington police are investigating two separate ShotSpotter alerts reported Thursday and Friday.
According to Wilmington Police Department Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay, police responded to a home in the 100 block of Barclay Hills Drive just after 5 p.m. Thursday after the homeowner reported shots were fired into the home.
“Officers responded to the home in reference to a ShotSpotter alert,” Lindsay said. “Upon arrival, they met with the homeowner, who stated that a small black car had driven by the house and opened fire, striking the homeowner’s house and car. Five casings were found.”
Another ShotSpotter alert was activated in the 300 block of Metting Road at 2:04 a.m. Friday.
“Officers located one shell casing in front of the home. Not injuries or property damage was reported,” Lindsay said.
The investigations are ongoing.
