
Women of Hope has announced three honorees for its inaugural Champion of Hope Award.
The honorees are Dr. Chuck Kays of Wilmington Plastic Surgery, Willa Hughey of South Atlantic Radiation Oncology and Sara Kearns of Onslow County Home Health and Hospice, according to a press release from the nonprofit Women of Hop
Kays, Hughey and Kearns will be honored at the second annual Diamonds and Champagne Hope Ball on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Coastline Convention Center in downtown Wilmington.
The honorees were selected from a pool of nominees that were submitted by individuals within New Hanover, Brunswick, Pender, Onslow and Duplin counties. They were nominated as individuals who have demonstrated compassionate care and have been sources of hope and optimism in the administration of their care or support.
This award seeks to identify and recognize a multi-accomplished individual who has enriched the lives of cancer patients and treats patients with extraordinary compassion, according to the press release.
The Diamonds and Champagne Hope Ball is a formal black tie affair will benefit Women of Hope, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the female cancer patient, survivor and their families.
