Cape Fear Community College has created a Cyber Security Awareness Day to help people keep their personal information safe online.
As part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, a series of free lectures is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, in Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station building on the downtown Wilmington campus.
This free event is open to the public and includes a series of informational sessions with security tips for using computer and mobile devices. Current political topics regarding national information security will be discussed, as well.
Presenters include CFCC’s faculty and staff and Zachery Mitcham, information technology security officer for UNC-Wilmington.
Those attending are encouraged to bring their laptops for a security evaluation. The daylong program also includes sessions on personal and campus safety within the college community.
