SHALLOTTE—Troopers with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol are investigating a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday night that killed a 56-year-old man in Brunswick County.
According to North Carolina Highway Patrol 1st Sgt. T.W. Pope, 56-year-old Don Cordell Bryant died in the wreck on Mulberry Road in Shallotte at 8:22 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15.
While driving down Mulberry Road, Cordell traveled to the right, then left of center, overcorrected and flipped his vehicle, Pope said. Pope said Cordell was ejected from the vehicle and died. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Cordell’s speed was one factor in this wreck, Pope said. Troopers with the Highway Patrol are still investigating the wreck.
