Man faces murder charge for assault that turned fatal

WILMINGTON — A Wilmington man has been charged with first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury to kill and is being held without bond.

Arrest warrants allege Anthony Nasir Sincere Hardy attacked Cynsire Keyasia Love on June 16 with a 9-millimeter handgun; she passed away June 26.

Hardy was issued a $1-million bond upon arrest and ordered no contact with Love or her family. However, during his first appearance in court, Judge Sandra Ray ordered him be held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Center on Tuesday, June 30.
