LELAND — Another North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles office is opening in Brunswick County this week to help alleviate wait times and provide another place for customers who need access to drivers license services.
Office hours at 25 Old River Rd. — located at the NCDOT Belville Bridge Yard — will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on state holidays. The office is in a temporary modular unit as the NCDMV assesses a long-term permanent site based on existing service demand and continued population growth.

The office will service walk-in customers only, with appointments beginning in March. Commercial driver license and motorcycle skills testing will not be offered.
The office was funded from a mini-budget — House Bill 125 — that passed the N.C. General Assembly and was signed into law by Governor Josh Stein last August. As part of the budget, four additional driver license offices are opening statewide.
The first launched in Garland, and two additional offices are scheduled to open later this year in Fuquay-Varina in Wake County and a location to be determined in Cabarrus County.
