Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting targeting a motorcyclist who had just completed a U-turn in a nearby parking lot. A vehicle pulled in front of the motorcycle, and an occupant fired multiple shots at close range.

The bullets missed the victim, instead shattering the glass front door of a nearby business. The victim ran into the parking lot of the business, and the suspect’s vehicle fled eastbound on Oleander Drive. Police have recovered evidence and video footage from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the WPD Gun Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact the WPD at (910) 343-3600 or use the Tip 411 app.
