NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A series of events to provide area residents with voter information ahead of the 2024 election takes place in July.
New Hanover County Board of Elections staff will host the events so people better understand their voting options, can learn more about registration and how to obtain an ID, now required per law. Necessary paperwork to submit for an ID will be made available during the sessions and folks will receive the ID onsite that day.
“Voting can sometimes be complicated as there are numerous ways to cast a ballot, requirements to be eligible and different windows of time when various types of voting will be taking place,” Board of Elections Director Rae Hunter-Havens said in a release. “Our goal is to guide the public through all this information, so they have a full understanding of their options and make sure they are registered to take part in the coming election, so their voice is heard.”
