Monday, September 11
Town of Leland Council will meet at 1 p.m. at town hall, 102 Town Hall Drive for an agenda review.
The Brunswick County Planning Board will meet at 6 p.m. in council chambers at the government center in Bolivia. The agenda includes two rezonings on roughly 11 acres combined, as well as a planned residential development, McLamb Farm, bringing more than 300 single-family homes on 82 acres. Tuesday, September 12
Town of Burgaw Board of Commissioners will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Burgaw Town Center, 108 E. Wilmington St. A few items on the agenda include:
- A public hearing on a text amendment to the UDO to amend the section related to traffic impact studies
- Public hearing to consider a wall mural requested by Leo Andrades with Pender Line, LLC, on the western facing side of 111 East Fremont St.
- Amending the town’s personnel policy to add an eight-hour floating holiday in recognition of Juneteenth
Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will meet at 4 p.m. at Rankin Place Terrace, 415 N. 12th St. in Wilmington. The Housing and Economic Opportunities Board of Directors will meet immediately after, followed by the Glover Plaza Inc. Board of Directors.
The Pender County Board of Commissioners and Planning Board will host a joint meeting at 4 p.m. at the Pender County Public Assembly Room, 805 S. Walker St. The meeting can be livestreamed here. The agenda includes:
- An update on the new comprehensive plan and goals
- Use of conditional zoning
- Moving special-use permits to the Board of Adjustments
- Planned development district approval process
The New Hanover County Board of Elections will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Board of Elections Office, 1241A Military Cutoff Road. Limited in-person seating will be available but the public can join by phone by calling 1-336-218-2051, conference ID 570 143 608 followed by pound (#). The meeting can also be livestreamed via Microsoft Teams.
The Carolina Beach Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. at 1121 N. Lake Blvd. The meeting can be livestreamed here. A few items on the agenda include:
- An ordinance regarding digging holes on the beach
- A text amendment to install ‘no parking’ signs on Bertram Drive
- Consideration of hiring a second full-time harbor master
Pender County Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. at the Dr. Katherine Herring Resource Center, 798 U.S. 117 in Burgaw. The meeting can be livestreamed on YouTube. A few items on the agenda include:
- Consider modifications to the school system website
- Reconsider EV Bus/infrastructure grant acceptance
- Consider GPS units being installed on Pender County Schools vehicles

Wednesday, September 13
Topsail Beach Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. at town hall, 820 S. Anderson Blvd. The meeting can be livestreamed here. A few items on the agenda include:
- Discussion of the sale of 2003 Ocean Blvd., an 8,400 square foot beach front property the town acquired in 1995
- Consideration of text amendments to town ordinances regarding obstruction of streets and parking, stopping and standing
- Discuss draft recycle center ordinance
The Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization Technical Coordinating Committee will meet at 10 a.m. on the first floor of 305 Chestnut St. in Wilmington. The meeting can be livestreamed via Zoom. A few items on the agenda include:
- A presentation from NCDOT about federal funding August redistribution
- A resolution approving amendments to the Go Coast bylaws
- Discussion about modifications to the 2024-2033 STIP
Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen will meet at 6 p.m. at Wrightsville Beach Town Hall, 322 Causeway Drive. The meeting can be livestreamed here. A few items on the agenda include:
- A public hearing to consider adoption of ordinance on open space requirements
- Public hearing on beach management plan
- Consideration adoption of ordinance amending civil penalties for violation
The Town of Belville Parks and Recreation Board will meet at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 63 River Road. Members of the public may listen to the meeting via telecommunication or conference line, and may call Town Hall at 910-371-2456 prior to Sept.13 at 2 p.m. to receive instructions. The agenda will include a riverwalk update.
Navassa Planning Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at 338 Main St.
The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority will meet at 9 a.m. at 230 Government Center Dr. The agenda includes authorizing $740,317.00 change order with Carolina Civil Works for the Market Street and Porters Neck Road Sewer Emergency Repair and a $457,170 service agreement award with Revere Control Systems, Inc. for Richardson Facility PLC upgrade. The meeting is open to the public.
Thursday, September 14
Surf City Planning Board will meet at 4 p.m. at the Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The meeting can be livestreamed on YouTube. An agenda was not posted by press.
The North Topsail Beach Planning Board will meet at 5 p.m. at town hall, 2008 Loggerhead Court. The agenda and livestream can be found here.
The Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. at city hall, 102 N Third St. in Wilmington. The meeting can be livestreamed on YouTube and GTV8. An agenda was not posted by press but can be found here.
New Hanover County Board of Commissioners will meet for an agenda review at 4 p.m. at the NHC Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive.
Leland Town Council will meet at 6 p.m. at town hall, 102 Town Hall Drive. A few items on the agenda include:
- Resolution authorizing the reduction of a performance guarantee agreement and surety bond for the partial completion of certain public improvements in Magnolia at Mallory Creek Plantation, Phase 2
- Public hearing on an ordinance amending permitted use table and maximum height allowances for wireless facilities
- Public hearing on an ordinance amending permitted use table and RV park regulations
Southport Board of Aldermen will meet at 6 p.m. at the Southport Community Building, 223 E. Bay St.
Friday, September 15
Surf City Town Council will hold a workshop at 9 a.m. at Surf City Municipal Complex, 214 W. Florence Way. The meeting can be livestreamed on YouTube.
