WILMINGTON — Tickets are available for the 28th Annual Luncheon hosted by the local nonprofit Good Friends of Wilmington, held on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at the Wilmington Convention Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Good Friends of Wilmington is a nonprofit made up of women committed to providing direct financial assistance to local residents facing unexpected hardships in New Hanover County. The organization has been operating since 1996 and has since distributed nearly $2 million in assistance. In 2025 alone, they raised $125,000.
“Our members are passionate about coming together to support individuals and families during some of their most difficult times,” Chair Mary Paul Beall said in a press release. “Every dollar raised stays in our community and helps provide hope and relief when it is needed most”
Previous contributions from the luncheons have provided funds for emergency housing, medical needs, summer camps for at-risk children, mothers and children leaving abusive environments, funding car repairs so parents can work, and heating bill assistance for the elderly.
