SOUTHPORT — In an effort to support Brunswick County’s only domestic violence shelter, a charity concert will be held on Southport’s waterfront, with all proceeds going to support Hope Harbor Home.
On July 7 at the American Fish Company, Hope Harbor Home is hosting its “Hope on the Water” event, which will feature live music from power-pop group The Doorsmen and country rock band The Ford Project. Appetizers and drinks will both be served as a part of the ticket price, and there will be a raffle and prizes. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. but the show won’t begin until 5:30 p.m.
Hope Harbor Home is a domestic violence shelter, but it also operates an around-the-clock hotline and provides legal advocacy for survivors. Staff will be present at the event to man a table, where attendees can learn more about the programs and services offered by the organization.
The event will also aid the organization in paying for the new shelter it is building; the new, larger shelter was approved by the county this past winter and will have 20 beds and be 3,200 square feet.
Tickets to the event are $35 ahead of time and $40 at the door, and they are non-refundable, even in the event of inclement weather.
