WILMINGTON — A local nonprofit is hosting a charity event at a Wilmington live music venue and bar to raise money for more than 40 nonprofit partners across the Cape Fear region.
“Rock the Day for United Way,” organized by the United Way for the Cape Fear Area, will take place on May 16 at The Bend in Ogden area. The festival will feature live music from Oc3ans, Blue Footed Boobies, and Signal Fire, plus local artists and vendors.
“As entrepreneurs rooted in this community, we launched the inaugural Rock the Day event to be of service, foster connection, and drive meaningful impact,” co-founder of the event, Becky Teretti, said in a release. “United Way supports 42 local charities and 71 programs, making a real difference where it’s needed most. Events like this help us connect with other leaders and work together to create lasting change. Everyone can make a big difference simply by supporting these local businesses and charities that uplift our community.”
The event will run from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door. They can be purchased here. Middle Sound Grille and Grumpy’s Soft Serve is also located on The Bend property, in addition to the Parlour House lounge.
