Warming facility opening in Shallotte as temps drop

BRUNSWICK COUNTY — Residents who need a place of warmth for respite in Brunswick County can head to Shallotte.

The Christian Recovery Center at 520 Mulberry St. will open at 5 p.m. Meals and transportation will be provided to those who need a place to stay as temps drop below 30 degrees.

To be admitted, people must be sober, have no weapons or illicit substances and be independently mobile. The center is also a tobacco-free location.

Family services can be inquired upon by contacting Brunswick Partnership for Housing and asking about its hotel vouchers.

More information can be found here for the recovery center.
