WILMINGTON — Small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to a Small Biz Summit, hosted by Cape Fear Community College’s Small Business Center.

All current or potential small business owners and entrepreneurs are welcome to attend. No fee is required, although attendees must register in advance. The registration can be compeleted here and the event will be held at CFCC’s Union Station building, on Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The summit will present the opportunity to engage with trained experts, business consultants, and other entrepreneurs. Panels and informative sessions will be held with a goal of providing useful information on how to grow a business. Matters of financial guidance, in-person and online growth, and the importance of resilience are among the topics that will be discussed.

Benjamin Hall, a war journalist and state department correspondent for Fox News, will be the keynote speaker at the event. In 2022, while covering the war in Ukraine, Hall and his team were severely injured when their vehicle was struck by a Russian drone strike, according to the CFCC press release. Two of his crew members died, while Hall was left badly wounded and still fearful for his safety. Hall’s book, “Saved: A War Reporter’s Mission to Make it Home,” discusses his near death experience and his constant fight for survival.

A complimentary copy of Hall’s book will be given out to all attendees.

The goal of CFCC’s small business center is to support the development and growth of small business. The program partners with local entrepreneurships and provides seminars, courses, and counseling for individuals interested in starting their own business.

More information can be found here. To become an event sponsor contact the director of the small business center at (910) 362-7469 or by emailing jcoleman@cfcc.ed.
