WILMINGTON — A nonprofit is hosting an inaugural event to support those experiencing homelessness.
Vigilant Hope will hold a Combatting Homelessness Gala on Jan. 19 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Iron Clad Brewery, 115 N. Second St.
The event will feature a live DJ and dancing, a buffet meal prepared by Sawmill Cafe, a cash bar, and prizes and raffle items. Every ticket purchased for $40 each and funds raised will support Vigilant Hope’s programs that provide shelter, food, job training and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness.
The nonprofit encourages attendees to “dress to impress” with a red carpet on site.
“We have such an opportunity to walk alongside folks that are battling poverty in our city and we invite you to join us.” Vigilant Hope Executive Director Jeremy Hardy said in a press release.
