WILMINGTON — The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) named six UNCW men’s soccer players to the 2017 All-State Teams.
“This is the most players we have ever had selected to the NCCSIA All-State Teams,” said head coach Aidan Heaney.
According to the press release, sophomore forward Phillip Goodrum, junior midfielder Ben Fisher and freshman defender Hjalmar Ekdal received First-Team accolades, while freshman forward Emil Elveroth, senior midfielder Kalvin Kromer and junior midfielder Joel Bylander garnered a spot on the Second Team.
“I think this indicates the depth of talent in our squad and the contributions of the entire group to our team’s success,” said Heaney. “Congratulations to our players for this well-deserved recognition. I am very proud of them.”
The Seahawks reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and finished the season with a 12-8-0 record.
