WILMINGTON — Little Guys Movers, a relocation service with a branch in Wilmington, has committed to fighting hunger in their community by partnering with the national hunger relief organization, Move For Hunger.
As part of its national network, Little Guys Movers joins Move For Hunger’s force of moving companies which, to date, have delivered more than 8 million pounds of food to local food banks throughout the United States and Canada.
According to Move For Hunger, one in four children in North Carolina lives with food insecurity. Little Guys Movers recognized the urgency of its neighbors’ needs and joined Move For Hunger to continue the fight against hunger and spread awareness of the growing need across the United States.

According to the company, when people move, they often throw out a good deal of “stuff,” including food that could be shared with a family in need. Little Guys Movers will now be collecting those food items from customers and delivering it directly to Food Bank CENC at Wilmington.
The service is free to customers and turns every move into an opportunity to make a difference.
“Move For Hunger has turned a beautifully simple idea into an opportunity to help our community,” said Chris Hawley, co-owner of Little Guys Movers. “When you’re packing up your pantry, don’t throw it out. Let us lighten your load and get it to people that can really use it.”
But moving day isn’t the only opportunity to donate food: the local Little Guys office in Wilmington will serve as an ongoing drop-off point for cans and non-perishables. Members of the community can bring goods to 3948 Market St., from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Little Guys Movers will ensure they make it safely to the local food bank.
