WILMINGTON — As we enter the time of the year when plans start to become finalized for fall and winter weddings, Carolina Wedding Guide invites any last-minute or even early wedding planners to its bi-annual Expo.

Whether it’s floral arrangements, photography, catering, or anything else, the Expo is here to help the newly engaged start the process of brainstorming and checking off items on their wedding to-do list.

The beginning stages leading up to the Carolina Wedding Guide Expo involve lots of reaching out to local vendors and brides to see what type of services are in high demand.

“Wedding companies vary with the economy, so you may see one year where you have a whole bunch of photographers, and then things may not go so well, and we may have more bakeries,” said Anne Strickland, a member of the Carolina Wedding Guide marketing team.

To get a good variety of vendors, Strickland said they reach out to vendors in Wilmington and surrounding areas down through North Myrtle Beach. Depending on the season and availability, the results have quantified to around forty to fifty vendors in the past.

Whether it’s floral arrangements, photography, catering, or anything else, the Expo is here to help the newly engaged start the process of brainstorming and checking off items on their wedding to-do list.

Carolina Wedding Guide also has a short survey on its website that recently engaged couples are encouraged to fill out to make sure the companies at the Expo correlate to the services in the highest demand.

Each vendor brings their own setup and are allotted a booth, in which several will offer prizes for gusts to win. This year’s grand prize package, put together by Carolina Wedding Guide, will total to around $4,000 in gifts from companies like Perry’s Emporium and The Wedding Dress Shoppe.

To increase your chances of winning the grand prize and knock $2 off the admission fee, register online at CarolinaWeddingGuide.com. Though many of the gifts are limited and therefore limited to those who are planning a wedding, anyone may attend.

“We encourage our brides to bring their families, their wedding parties, their fiancés, anybody that could be helpful to them in making any of the decisions that make their day special,” Strickland said.

Guests can pick between paying the $8 online registration fee or $10 cash at the door. The Expo will be held Sunday July 9, in the Wilmington Convention Center and lasts from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
