The latest episode of New Hanover County Schools TV produced ‘Sports Round Table’ is set to air at 8 p.m. Wednesday night on Time Warner Cable Channel Five. Each week, Port City Daily’s Joe Cats meets with the four coaches from across New Hanover County to go over game highlights and analysis from the week that was in high school football.
Three of the four Wilmington high schools cruised to impressive wins last Friday as Hoggard and Laney opened conference play.
New Hanover bounced back in their first home game since week one, while Ashley struggled to get the offensive going in a 28-6 setback to West Brunswick.
New Hanover was led by Wiz Vaughn in a 49-21 win against Purnell Swett. Vaughn had over 200 yards rushing. Rashod Wallace paced Hoggard’s run game as the Vikings rolled to a 50-13 triumph over South Brunswick.
Defensive end Ryan Daborowski had a huge night for Laney’s defense, with four sacks, as the Bucs posted a shutout in a 42-0 victory at Topsail.
