Former UNCW women’s golf standout Lori Beth Adams’ quest to reach the LPGA Tour moved ahead last weekend after finishing in a tie for 27th place at Stage I of the LPGA/Symetra Tour Qualifying School at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.

Adams, a 2014 UNCW graduate and native of Burlington, N.C., carded an even-par score of 288. After opening the tournament with a two-under par score of 70, she fired a 73 (+1) in the second round.
In the third round, Adams finished with a two-over par score before closing out the tournament with a one-under par round of 71.
Adams will advance to Stage II of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament, which will take place on Oct. 17-23 in Venice, Fla.
