Trailing by two in the bottom of the sixth, Laney plated three runs to pull out a 3-2 nail biter against South Brunswick on Monday.
Paige Cruse smacked a two-run round tripper in the inning as the Bucs moved to 16-6 overall. Sailor Funai struck out seven on the stripe for Laney. Savannah Capabianco also went 2-for-3 at the plate. Capabianco and Kirstie Langley each hit a double as the Bucs totaled seven hits in the ball game.
Sydney Fox launched a home run for South Brunswick.
Laney plays host to Hoggard in the tournament semifinals on Tuesday.

Hoggard rallied for 12 runs in the second innings to break away from New Hanover in a 19-0 rout over the crosstown counterparts on Monday.
Consecutive base hits by Nia Green, Aleah Thompson and Brooke Benton started the decisive frame, while Olivia Hawkins and Jesse Mathis added RBI singles in the inning.
The Vikings improved to 19-6 overall and face Laney in the Mideastern Conference Tournament semifinals on Tuesday. Hoggard took two of three from the Bucs during the regular season.
No. 4 West Brunswick 14 No. 5 Ashley 4
West Brunswick defeated Ashley 14-4 on Monday to improve to 14-8 overall.
The Trojans took a 9-0 lead in the third before Cameron Rivenbark belted a grand slam for the Screaming Eagles to cut the deficit. West Brunswick added two more in the fifth to make it 11-4, and put the game away with three runs in the sixth.
The Trojans take on Topsail in the tournament semifinals on Tuesday.
