UNCW scored nine runs in the first three innings for a 9-4 lead and broke the game open with a six-run fifth inning. Leading 7-4 after 2 1/2 innings, Robbie Thorburn homered to lead off the third and Gavin Stupienski singled home Mims later in the inning for the five-run cushion.

Feight had a pair of bases-loaded two-run singles and added an RBI single in the fifth to raise his season total to 53 RBI’s. Joining Feight and Mims with a big night at the plate was Casey Golden, who finished with three hits, including two doubles, and two RBI’s.

Ryan Foster (7-1) was the beneficiary of the offensive explosion and earned the win. He went seven innings, walked none and struck out three.

The series continues on Saturday with a 2 p.m. start.
