Laney rolled to its second conference win of the season following a 38-0 shutout over South Brunswick on Wednesday.
Tim Gore scored a pair of touchdowns for the Bucs, who moved to 2-0 in league play and 3-4 overall. Gore made it 10-0 on an eight-yard run midway through the second quarter, while Michael Hoffman connected on a 27-yard field goal to put Laney on the board with seven minutes to go in the first half.
The Bucs were opportunistic on the defensive side of the ball, with three interceptions over the opening 24 minutes. Kymel Bloodworth and Sherod Sidbury forced a turnover, but Tyler Parks recovered a fumble for South Brunswick to stall a Laney drive just before the break to keep it a 10-point game.
Laney started to pour it on in the second half as Jamius Beckett took a 76-yard run into the end zone to make it 17-0, and Imeek Watkins put in another strong effort in the backfield as the junior scored from 15 yards out to put the game in check. Trevon Greene also added a one-yard touchdown run in the victory.
The Bucs get back on the field for homecoming night at home against New Hanover on Monday, Oct. 12. The game was scheduled to be played on Friday, but administrators made the change due to safety concerns because of the short week.

Laney continued its dominating run through conference and took one step closer to a league championship following a 7-2 result over West Brunswick on Wednesday.
The Bucs dropped just two games in singles play as Suzie Schoolfield, Kendal Hanks, Jessica Tucker and Cami Jefferson all cruised to 8-0 victories. Jefferson also teamed up with Sofia Kooyman for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.

The Vikings clinched the match by winning five singles matches to improve to 7-6 overall and 7-3 in the Mideastern Conference.
Kara Ferner (No. 1), Hannah Marable (No. 3), Lauren Traflet (No. 4), Lindsay Diab (No. 5) and Anna Phelps (No. 6) all won in straight sets.
Paxton Brewer and Molly Bennett added an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles.
