UNCW women’s basketball coach Adell Harris announced the dismissal of junior guard Brie Mobley (Winter Haven H.S./Winter Haven, Fla.) from the program due to a violation of team rules.
“We appreciate Brie’s contributions to the program over the last two years,” Coach Adell Harris said. “We wish her the best of luck in the future.”

A two-year letter winner for the Seahawks, Mobley earned second team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors after ranking eighth in the CAA with a 13.4 scoring average last season. In leading the Seahawks to a pair of wins over Delaware and Charleston late in the year, Mobley had a week to remember by averaging 33.0 points per game, while shooting 62.8 percent from the field.
She broke the UNCW and Trask Coliseum scoring records by tallying a career-high 46 points to help erase a 12-point deficit to snap a nine-game losing streak against Delaware. Mobley also set a school and conference record by making 19 field goals in 25 attempts.
The decision to part ways with the Florida native comes just ahead of the Seahawks’ 2015-16 slate, with hopes of building off their 14-win 2014-15 season and 10-8 mark in the CAA. Media day for the women’s team is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7.
