Six different players scored goals for New Hanover on Thursday as the Wildcats got a bounce back 6-0 shutout over South Brunswick.
James Henry, John Evans, Jack Kiernan, Jackson Lumpkin and Declan Payne all found the back of the net for New Hanover, who improved to 1-1 in league play and 8-3-1 overall. Roman Lewis made four saves and Elmer Murillo recorded one stop to preserve the clean sheet. Kiernan, Payne, Robert Franck and Juan Rosales each picked up an assist.
Hoggard 4 Topsail 0

Cesar Cruz picked up one goal and one assist to lead Hoggard in a 4-nil result over Topsail on Thursday night.
Cruz put the Vikings in front in the eighth minute off an assist by Andrew Robinson, while Robinson tallied minutes later for the 2-0 lead. Jared Robertson found the back of the net late into the first half and Wyatt Williams sealed the victory in the 67th minute.
Hoggard improved to 1-0 in conference and 4-3-3 overall.

Cape Fear Academy 8 Harrells Christian 0
Cam Stephen led the attack with two scores for Cape Fear Academy as six different players found the back of the net in an 8-0 shutout over Harrells Christian.
The Hurricanes took a six goal lead into the break to improve to 2-1 in conference and 8-4-2 overall. Zach Tomosunas, Robert Schuett, Bernard Austin, Bennett Dahl and Walker Moore also tallied in the result.
Cape Fear Academy returns to action at home against crosstown rival Coastal Christian on Tuesday, September 22.

Hoggard 3 Topsail 2

After jumping out to a two-set lead, Topsail rallied back to even the score before Hoggard secured a 15-13 victory in the decisive fifth set to record a 3-2 win.

The Vikings improved to 5-0 in conference to remain atop the division standings, while Topsail fell to 3-3 in league play. Payton Shoenleber contributed with an all-around effort for the Pirates with 25 assists, eight kills, 17 digs and three aces.
Hoggard picked up a 25-21 result in the opening game before grabbing a commanding 25-13 advantage in the second set. Kirby Smith, Meaghan Trotta and Carolyn Davidson played a key role in the attack for the Vikings, but Topsail responded with their backs against the wall as the Pirates outlasted Hoggard 28-26 to send the match into the fifth set.
Ultimately, the Vikings pulled out the conference win to remain unbeaten in league play with a 15-13 triumph. Angelica Biele, Marlee Marrotta and Madi Ford were big in the defense, with 18, 25 and 19 digs, respectively.
