After clinching the Mideastern Conference championship, third place in the boys and girls 4A East Regional and spot in the state championship meet, Hoggard had six runners who received first-team All-Conference honors.

Led by senior Ben Schmidt and sophomore Sara Pellazzari, both of whom earned player-of-the-year awards, Robinson Snider, Nathan Sudduth, Madeline Hulbert and Sara Weldon rounded out the list of first-team all-conference members for the Vikings.
During his career at Hoggard, Schmidt became one of only five runners in school history to run a 5K in under 16 minutes and accomplished the feat three times. He was an all-region runner three times and the conference champion this year. Schmidt has signed a National Letter of Intent to run cross-country at Queens University in Charlotte.
Snider and Schmidt finished 50th and 51st in the 2014 4A state meet out of the 131 individuals competing at the event.
Trent Pyrtle and Chad Campbell represented Topsail on first-team after helping guide the Pirates to a strong showing this season, while Jackson Denton (New Hanover) and Thomas Eichorn (South Brunswick) completed the boys listing.
The Lady Wildcats had two runners earn first-team selections as Jane Moody and Bella Idol joined Julia Boudreau and Sara Silika from Ashley.
