The Coastal Plain League (CPL) announced the rosters for the 16th Annual All-Star game to be held July 13-14 at Big Rock Stadium in Morehead City.

For the first time, the CPL turned to its fans to select their favorite of five candidates for each team and more than 3,000 fans voted in a 24-hour period. In the East, Mike Montville (Wilmington), Jason Blum (Fayetteville), Justin Novak (Petersburg), Kyle Carroll (Morehead City), and Sam Tidaback (Peninsula) earned spots on the final vote ballot.
The Wilmington Sharks have a total of five ballplayers representing the East, including UNCW rising junior Steven Linkous, who leads the league in stolen bases with 20.
Linkous will get the start at third base, while Nate Moorehouse earned a spot in the outfield. Starting pitcher Jonathan Olczak was selected to the pitching staff along with closer Kyle Stout.
In 97 at-bats, Moorehouse is hitting .278 with five doubles and 21 RBIs to go along with his 16 runs scored. Montville hit .319 since joining the club after Maryland fell out of contention for the national championship and hit four home runs so far to go along with four doubles, three triples and 15 runs batted in.
Stout has nine saves in 17 appearances and yet to allow a earn in 18.1 innings pitched, while Olczak has been a consistent starter for the Shark’s with a 2-0 record and 2.06 ERA. In six starts, Olczak has allowed nine runs–eight earned–in 35 innings with 13 walks and 42 strikeouts.
In addition to the All-Star game, the CPL will host a fan fest with live entertainment and home run derby on the night of Sunday July 13. Home run derby contestants will be announced early next week.
