Wilmington – Jake Keegan’s second goal of the contest, coming with one second left in regulation, proved to be the difference as Binghamton dropped UNCW, 3-2, at the UNCW Soccer Stadium in the final game of the UNCW/Hilton Garden Inn Classic on Sunday.
The Bearcats upped their record to 3-4 and finished second in the tournament behind champion Saint Mary’s (Calif.), who blanked Appalachian State in the day’s first game, 2-0. The Seahawks, meanwhile, saw their ledger drop to 2-4-1 and finished fourth in the tournament. Appalachian State finished third.

Wilmington-Senior Chrissy Gratz scored in the 87th minute to break a 1-all tie and lift East Carolina to a 2-1 victory over host UNCW in collegiate women’s soccer action Sunday at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.
The Pirates leveled their season mark at 4-4-0 with the victory while Seahawks moved to 5-3-1 overall as they saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.

UNCW returns to action Thursday as it opens Colonial Athletic Association play with a 6 p.m. match against Hofstra at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. ECU is back on the pitch Friday as it opens its Conference USA schedule at home against UTEP in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
