Dairy Queen kicks off spring with ‘Free Cone Day’

WILMINGTON — Looking for free ice cream to celebrate spring’s arrival? Dairy Queen can help.

The national ice cream chain — with more than 7,000 stores worldwide in 20 countries — is hosting “Free Cone Day” on Monday, March 20.

Customers will be given a free vanilla soft-serve cone while supplies last; no purchase is necessary. Only one cone per participant is allowed.

“We like to think of Free Cone Day as the beginning of our favorite season – treat season!” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation, said in a press release.

Free Cone Day started in 2014. The promotion cannot be redeemed for delivery or mobile orders. The offer is only good at its non-mall locations; customers can check here for participating stores.

Wilmington’s walkup store is at 3500 Oleander Drive; the location on Dawson Street is closed.
