The road-conquering force that is Jefferson Starship was originally conceived as a collective of musical adventurers contributing to founder Paul Kantner’s epic concept albums and ensuing catalog of rock classics.
Formed in 1974 by a group of musicians which included former members of Jefferson Airplane, the band’s current lineup includes founding member David Freiberg, drummer Donny Baldwin (who first joined in 1982), keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998), guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012), and singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson (who joined in 2008).
As Jefferson Starship forges ahead into the future, the band reflects on the legacy of Paul Kantner, who passed away in 2016.
“To me, that ‘Paul Kantner thing’ — getting on a rocket ship and blasting off into the unknown — is the very essence of Jefferson Starship,” Gold said in a press release. “And that spirit is very much alive in the band today.”
Jefferson Starship will be joined by British singer-songwriter John Waite, a celebrated and chart-topping artist who continues to write, record, and perform with the urgency of someone still chasing the next perfect song. Known for his role as singer and bass player in The Babys, and his subsequent solo career marked by the 1984 album “No Brakes” and 1980s hit song “Missing You.”
Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show

The father’s legacy. The son’s band. The music that defined a generation. “Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show” is an all-new live production created under the direction of Roger Waters with a band led by his son Harry Waters, a longtime touring musician, pianist and composer.
Few catalogs in rock history have had the worldwide reach of Pink Floyd. “LEGACY” spans more than two hours and reaches deep into that catalog. Harry Waters and drummer Graham Broad shaped the set list together, paying tribute to the best loved music from the golden era of Pink Floyd to build what Harry Waters describes as an intentional arc across the performance.
“We are going to authentically recreate the albums as close to note-for-note as we possibly can,” Harry Waters said in a press release. Beyond recreating the sound, Harry Waters says “LEGACY” is intended to reconnect audiences with the ideas at the heart of the music.
“These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years, and I’m excited for audiences to come together and experience them live again,” says Roger Waters in a press release. “Harry has assembled a terrific band, and I can’t wait for fans around the world to see the special show we’ve created together.”
Tickets to “Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show” will be available online to Wilson Center Members on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. Tickets to Jefferson Starship and John Waite will be available online to Wilson Center Members on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 10 a.m.
Tickets for both shows go on sale online and in person to the general public on Friday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m.
