WILMINGTON — The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College is thrilled to announce “Home Alone in Concert” at CFCC’s Wilson Center on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2026, with performances at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
This live-to-picture event will showcase the beloved holiday classic “Home Alone” while Academy Award-winning composer John Williams’ score is performed live, in-sync with the film, by the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. As a part of the Wilson Center’s Family Series, this event is fit for all ages and offers a $25 child and student ticket, valid for any seat in the house.
Since its release in 1990, “Home Alone” has become a cherished holiday tradition for generations of moviegoers. Directed by Chris Columbus and written and produced by John Hughes, the film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an imaginative 8-year-old boy who is accidentally left behind when his family leaves for Christmas vacation. Forced to fend for himself, Kevin must defend his home and outsmart two bumbling burglars, played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern.
Accompanying the film is John Williams’ iconic score, which has become synonymous with the holiday season. Williams, one of the most celebrated composers in film history, has composed music for more than 100 films, including “Star Wars,” “Harry Potter,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Schindler’s List,” “Jaws,” “Jurassic Park,” “Superman,” and the “Indiana Jones” films. He has earned five Academy Awards, 27 Grammy Awards, seven BAFTA Awards, four Golden Globes, and five Emmy Awards, distinguishing himself as one of America’s most accomplished musical powerhouses.
Tickets will be available online to Wilson Center Members and Wilmington Symphony Orchestra Subscribers on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10 a.m. Tickets go on sale to the general public online and in person on Friday, July 17, 2026, at 10 a.m.
