Larry the Cable Guy touring through Wilson Center

WILMINGTON — This spring the well-known “Git-R-Done” comedian whose blue collar-humor has earned him Grammy nominations and Billboard awards will entertain audiences in downtown Wilmington.

Larry the Cable Guy will be performing live at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Wilson Center.

The multi-platinum recording artist is known for recorded comedy specials “Remain Seated” and with Jeff Foxworthy “We’ve Been Thinking.” He was nominated for a Grammy for “The Right to Bare Arms” special and is a NYT Bestselling author for his book, “Git-R-Done.” 

In real life known as Daniel Lawrence Whitney, the comedian also launched a nonprofit foundation in his popular phrase’s name: Git-R-Done Foundation. Launched in 2009, it helps children’s and veteran’s causes and has donated to Arnold Palmer Hospital, Operation Homefront and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital.

In 2015, Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy launched their own comedy channel, Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup, on SiriusXM. Larry the Cable Guy also has appeared in the animated feature films, including “Cars,” “A Madea Christmas,” “Witness Protection,” and more.
