WILMINGTON — Big Something toured through Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater and played three nights during Halloween weekend. Each night took on a different theme and welcomed various friends joining the Burlington, N.C.-based band onstage.

Friday night’s show reprised the Royal Rumble tour that Big Something embarked on with Andy Frasco and the UN before the pandemic halted live music.
The crowd was certainly ready to rumble with the acts, as Nick Gerlach’s Cult Conference opened the show. Gerlach took over DJ duties, played the sax, and was the “ref” throughout the evening
Comedian Kyle Ayers did a standup set before becoming the “ringmaster” and taking on the job of MC. During his set, Ayers attempted to crowd-surf and interview a fan, in homage to Andy Frasco’s tendency to catch a “wave” during shows.
The night was rowdy as the bands performed and even challenged each other into having the most fun. A few highlights included Frasco taking on Casey Cranford from Big Something in a chugging contest; Big Something’s guitarist Jesse Hensley came out in a wrestling mask to “battle” Shawn Eckles, Frasco’s guitar player; and Nick MacDaniels dressed as Frasco giving a Frasco-type speech to the crowd.
Here are some scenes from the show, as captured by Tom Dorgan of MoonFrog Media.
