Fun Bowl brings specialty poke, ramen to Front Street in Wilmington

Fun Bowl’s fresh noodles and family-style dining hit downtown Wilmington this week.

WILMINGTON — A new ramen and poke specialty restaurant, Fun Bowl, opened this week in downtown Wilmington.

Fun Bowl makes fresh ramen noodles in house from wheat flour, tapioca, egg, gluten, salt, and kansui (an alkaline solution used in dough making, think ‘liquid baking soda’).

Manager Eliza Santos said the Fun Bowl Ramen is the most-ordered dish since opening Tuesday. The house ramen bowl is made with ramen noodles. chicken, pork and vegetable broth, green onion, bamboo shoot, Wood Ear mushroom, egg, seaweed, and red ginger, with the choice of either Cashu or Berkshire Pork.

Fun Bowl offers eight total ramen and six poke bowl varieties, with over a dozen different topping options. Nigori, apple and peach sake, Japanese beer, and fountain drinks are available as beverage options.

Family-style seating is available inside, with the option to carry-out or order online. Fun Bowl is open Sunday through Thursday between 11 a.m. and 9 .m. On Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant will stay open an hour later, until 10 p.m.
