NEW HANOVER COUNTY — After three years of business on Military Cutoff Road, The Donut Inn announced it will open a second location in Porters Neck.
The shop serves bagels, made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, hand-made donuts, and coffee.

The Donut Inn’s owners, Allen Renquist and Matt Anlyan, said in a release it was time for the store to expand. Given the region’s explosive growth, paired with “overwhelming demand,” the owners feel Porters Neck is the best location to serve new and current customers.
“We wanted to enter the market as early as possible relative to our competition,” Anlyan said in the release. “And, to be honest, our customers have made it clear that if we don’t bring The Donut Inn to Porters Neck, we should fear for our lives,” Renquist said.
Situated adjacent to the Harris Teeter shopping center, The Donut Inn’s second location will be in the Oak Landing shopping center. Construction has already started, according to the release.
The new location is expected to open this upcoming fall. Keep up with The Donut Inn by following its Facebook page.
