WILMINGTON — After handing over downtown Wilmington’s Fortunate Glass to a new owner, Celeste Glass will open a new wine bar in the South Front District, a rapidly developing neighborhood that already hosts Satelite and it’s food-stall spin-off, Block Taco, as well as Benny’s Big Time Pizzeria and Axes and Allies.

Glass sold the original location on South Front Street over the summer, allowing her to focus on the new location. Offering a larger menu than the original location, but keeping the small plates and extensive winelist, The Second Glass is set to open on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

On Saturday, Glass said she was exhausted but happy to be in the final stretch of opening The Second Glass, working on menus and planning a soft opening.

Glass announced the opening on Facebook on Friday.

The Second Glass is located at 1540 South 2nd St. For more information, check out The Second Glass Facebook page or the restaurant’s website.
