Food Truck Round Up and Taco Fest both happening Saturday

While not in Wilmington, the two events are taking place just north of the city.

SURF CITY — Good news for foodies, this Saturday not one, but two different food-based festivals are taking place right here in the Cape Fear Region.

The Surf City Taco Fest is happening from 4-7 p.m. at Soundside Park in Surf City. Admission is free and there will be live music, a piñata for kids, giveaways, and of course, tacos.

Five restaurants will be providing the food including: Camino Real, Cancun Mexican Restaurant, Taqueria la Tapatia, Shaka Taco, and Pura Vida Grill.

Food truck round up

The Food Truck Round Up will be held at Poplar Grove Plantation, from 3 – 8 p.m. to raise money for The Stables’ Equine Rescue Program. Admission is free, but donations are gladly accepted, according to the event’s website.

Food trucks along with artisans and a beer and wine garden will all be available at the event.
