WILMINGTON — The Wilmington riverfront continues to grow; plans for an 84-foot hotel have been submitted to the city’s Technical Review Committee.

The hotel known, as Aloft Coastal Hotel, would be located at 501 Nutt St. and would be situated adjacent to Cape Fear Community College and the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce.

The proposed building site is 1.4-acres, and the hotel itself would consist of 35,666-square-feet, and would be seven-stories tall.

Parking for the already densely packed area would come from the existing surface parking lot, which would offer 80 parking spaces, 50 reserved spaces in the convention center parking deck, and 25 spaces leased from CFCC Boat Build School.

According to building plans submitted to the TRC, both property owner and developer are listed as Wilmington Hospitality Associates, LLC. The hotel would be located alongside the Coastline Convention Center, and would actually share an address with the building.
