CAROLINA BEACH — Police in Carolina Beach have apprehended a suspect in an armed shooting incident Monday afternoon.
A tweet from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Department just after 3:40 p.m. said one person was in custody and there were no known injuries.
At this point no known injuries to citizens or law enforcement suspect in custody

The situation too place in the are of 1600 Sea Ray Lane. Little information is currently available. At around 4 p.m., the area had a heavy police presence, with armed officers from the Sheriff’s Department, Highway Patrol, Carolina Beach on scene. Federal officers from the FBI and ATF were in the area, too.


At 3:15 p.m., Town Clerk Kim Ward had sent out an email advising anyone in the area of 1600 Sea Ray Lane to stay indoors. Those outside of the area were advised that traffic is being blocked and rerouted.
