About the restaurant

The original Poe’s Tavern opened in 2003 on Sullivan’s Island, SC in a converted early 1900’s beach cottage. We are best known for our gourmet hamburgers — ground in-house from Certified Angus Beef and served with a host of unique top-pings, and our broad and ever-changing lineup of the finest craft beers with an emphasis on local and regional selections
