WILMINGTON — Michael Tomes, age 57, passed away on October 24, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born in Peru, Indiana, Michael was a proud graduate of Ball State University.
Throughout his life, Michael’s greatest joy was connecting with people. He truly loved spending time with his family and friends, and he possessed a generous heart—frequently turning the many people he helped throughout his life into deeply cherished friends.
He is survived by his loving parents, Tony and Becky Tomes, his brother, Mark Tomes, and his nephew, Shade Tomes, all of Hampstead, North Carolina. He also leaves behind his niece, Emerson, and her husband, Austin Valliere, and his grand-niece, Adaline, all of Wilmington, North Carolina.
Services to celebrate Michael’s life will be held in Peru, Indiana, in the spring of 2027.
