WILMINGTON — Elizabeth Lindner, 35, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
She was born on June 8, 1991, in Sarpy County, Nebraska, to Tracy Strabley.
Lovingly known as Liz, she was funny, lovable, generous, and fiercely loyal. She loved to laugh and had a way of making the people around her laugh. She made people feel accepted exactly as they were. Liz loved big, loved hard, and showed up for the people she cared about when it counted most. She would go out of her way to help anyone in need, protect the people she loved, and quite literally give someone the shirt off her back.
Liz was unapologetically herself. She had a special love for sweets, a strong personality, and a presence that could never be overlooked or forgotten.
Lucas and Rilynn held an immeasurable place in Liz’s heart. She loved them both deeply, and they were among the greatest treasures of her life. The love she carried for them will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Liz shared more than fifteen years of life and love with her wife, Heather. Together, they grew up, built a family, and created countless memories that Heather will carry with her forever. Their love was real, enduring, and uniquely theirs.
Liz also shared a special bond with her beloved black Labrador, Tripp, who had been part of their family for twelve years. Tripp was a cherished companion and an important part of the life and home Liz built.
Liz is survived by her beloved wife, Heather Small; her mother, Tracy Strabley; her children, Lucas and Rilynn; her siblings, Andrew Lindner (Ashley), Erick Woodburn, and Alexandria “Alee” Woodburn; her brother-in-law, Glenn Small Jr. (Cassandra); her father-in-law, Glenn Small Sr. (Deborah); her grandparents, Linda Lindner and Fred Woodburn (Judy); her beloved dog, Tripp; and many beloved cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Liz was preceded in death by her grandfather, Carl Lindner.
Liz will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends when arrangements have been finalized.
