WILMINGTON — Dale Dee Miller, our devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday August 23, 2026. His family was by his side. Born on September 23, 1954, in Goshen, Indiana, Dale lived a remarkable life marked by service, dedication, compassion, and faith.
A proud veteran, Dale served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for four years. His commitment to service continued throughout his lifetime, both professionally and personally. After his Air Force career, Dale worked as an electrician, a missions and pastoral care coordinator, and finally found his God given calling by working with Carolina Christian Radio for the past thirty years. God gave Dale a voice that He would use to proclaim His Gospel and His Word.
Dale was a faithful and dedicated member of Northside Church in Wilmington, NC, where he served as a valued member of the Media Team. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Joan Bontrager Miller, and his precious daughter, Amber Dale Conatser. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Jenese Ellis Miller; two cherished daughters, Dawn Jenese Miller and husband Mohammed Al Khateeb, Kellie Sunshine McDonald and husband Kevin, and two adored grandsons, Brady Ellis McDonald and Gavin Robert McDonald. He is survived by his son-in-law Jason Conatser (Amber), and his dear sister Bonnie Hina of Franklin, NC. Also left to cherish his memory is a beloved sister-in-law Jessica Ellis Lobbestael and husband Keith, niece and nephew Mckenna and Dylan Lobbestael, along with other extended family members and many dear friends. Also left behind is his beloved canine companion, Precious.
In lieu of flowers, the family humbly requests that memorial gifts be made in Dale’s honor to support Carolina Christian Radio, Lifeline Pregnancy Center, the Salvation Army, or First Fruit Ministries, a ministry close to Dales’ heart and for which he served on the Board of Directors. Dale had deep compassion for those experiencing homelessness and for those who had been victims of human trafficking. Helping people who were hurting and giving them hope in Christ was the greatest and most meaningful part of his life and legacy.
To my Dale from Jenese: I have loved you since I was sixteen years old. Bless you for being the best husband and father that God ever created. Thank you for all of the beautiful memories. I cannot say goodbye to you. I will see you later.
