WILMINGTON — Betty Jean (Hall) Mabe, passed away peacefully, August 14, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Surry, NC on March 5, 1950.
Jean was a beloved daughter, mother, sister and friend. She loved her family and many friends she made through her life. She enjoyed the beach, fishing and simple joys that made her life meaningful.
Being the first mail carrier for Kure Beach, Jean delivered the mail for many years. She loved her customers!
Jean is survived by her son, Sandy White. Her sister, Peggy (Hall) Davis and husband Michael. Her brother, Tommy and his wife Nellie. Her niece, Melanie (Davis) and husband Todd Cayton.
She is predeceased by her son, Marty Mathis, along with her brothers Jerry and Terry.
There will be visitation on August 22, 2026, at 1:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC.
