LELAND — Donald (Donnie) Wayne Long (11/23/1946) passed away after a brief illness on Aug 6th, 2026.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyman “Buck” and Marion Long, Daughter Kristal Alicia, sister Carolyn Thompson and brother Wade Long.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janet, daughters Heather (Reid) Kendall of Old Fort and Courtney (Joe Honeycutt) Carter of Leland, in addition are his grandsons who he loved tremendously, Zack, Aaryn, Seth, Hunter, and Jaxon. His sister Sue (Jimmy) Watson, Sister in-law Diane Long, beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his dog Smokey.
He retired from General Electric after 38+ years, and spent many years coaching softball at North Brunswick High School, and County Parks and Recreation, he also had a love for Nascar, Baseball and most all sports.
Anyone who knew him, loved him and has plenty of funny stories to tell. He will be missed dearly.
