WILMINGTON — Lynda Danielle Pinkey, 57, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026.
She was born on December 1, 1968, in Williston, North Dakota, and lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and an appreciation for the simple wonders of the world.
Lynda found joy in the beauty of nature and the moments that brought peace to her heart. She loved spending time stargazing beneath the night sky, fishing whenever she had the opportunity, and watching the ever-changing weather with fascination. Music was a constant source of happiness in her life, especially the timeless sounds of Rock and Roll, which could always brighten her day.
An animal lover through and through, Lynda had a special affection for butterflies, which she admired for their beauty and symbolism of hope and transformation. She treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, JJ, and her cherished cat, LuLu, who brought her comfort and unconditional love. She also enjoyed gathering with friends to play BINGO, where laughter and fellowship were just as important as the game itself.
More than anything, Lynda had a generous and caring spirit. She believed in helping those in need whenever she could and found fulfillment in offering kindness, encouragement, and support to others. Her compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Lynda was proud of her Native American heritage and carried a deep respect for her family and tribal roots throughout her life. She was preceded in death by several beloved family members from her Native American Tribe, whose memories she held close to her heart.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, David E. Pinkey; her stepson, William Pinkey; her stepdaughter, Jennifer L. Zahn; and her beloved step-grandchildren, Jersey, Jase, Julia, and Mikaela. She also leaves behind many friends, and all who were touched by her warmth, generosity, and caring heart.
Lynda’s memory will live on in every star-filled sky, every peaceful day spent by the water, every butterfly that gracefully passes by, and every act of kindness shared in her honor. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday August 7, 2026 at Coble Funeral and Cremation Service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 1155 Shipyard Blvd Wilmington, NC 28412. Funeral Service will start at 11:00 AM in the Coble Chapel.
