WILMINGTON — Thomas Franklin Holcomb, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, in Wilmington, NC, at the age of 68.

Born on May 19, 1958, in Charlotte, NC, Thomas was a native of Indian Land, South Carolina, and spent his later years residing in Oak Island, North Carolina.

A journeyman in construction by trade, Thomas was known as a man of many talents. His skills and dedication to his work were matched only by his deep love for his family. He cherished his wife, Lori, their children, and grandchildren with unwavering devotion, epitomizing the true spirit of a family man.

Thomas was passionate about fishing, music, and football, finding joy and solace in these pursuits. A member and faithful believer in the words of I Corinthians 13:7-8, he lived a life grounded in love that “beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.” Truly, his love never failed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Watte Holcomb and Margie Ruth Melton, as well as his siblings Richard Watte Holcomb Jr., Johnny Patrick Holcomb, and Teresa Ann Holcomb.

Thomas leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Lori Moore Holcomb; his son, Michael Chase Holcomb (Cathy); his daughter, Summer Nicole Holcomb (Justin); and his treasured grandchildren, Hannah Holcomb, William Shelly, and Jase Oliver. He is also survived by his sister, Sherry Holcomb Bush, and numerous family members and friends who will miss his warmth and kindness.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to honor his legacy and share cherished memories.

Thomas Franklin Holcomb’s love, laughter, and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of love and dedication to family serves as a testament to a life well-lived.
